We are an all-digital studio. We convert all music to computer-based data which can be manipulated in many ways very rapidly with software. A music CD is computer-style digital data and the sooner it is in this form, the better. We keep every instrument and voice on a separate track, recorded separately to avoid bleed-over from mikes. The volume can be adjusted on each track separately and it can be panned to the left or right in a stereo image. Each track can be separately equalized as needed. The original music remains untouched and all effects can
be changed at any time to achieve the overall sound desired. |

Before mixing, Sony Sound Forge 8 software is used to remove all undesired sounds such as a sharp breath, special compression needs, and even pitch shifts if desired. |

The Cakewalk Sonar recording software is used for mixing also. All standard effects are available in real time, including reverb, chorus, equalization, etc. The stereo pan is set for each track and the volumes adjusted. Midi tracks can be changed to any kind of instrument. |

| The client is consulted about all artistic aspects of the mix. After adjusting all individual tracks of a song as required, the final selection is mixed down to a standard stereo pair. A CD of the song can be burned at this point for demo or use by the Mastering engineer. The original data is kept permanently and anything can be changed at any time. |
