| Mastering is
creating the final CD from a collection of 12 or so songs. It usually
includes adjustment of the dynamic range, lead-in fading, track spacing,
volume normalization, and correction of some types of problems.
For projects you have already mixed, we can handle mixed input from
you in the form of CD's, DVD's, audio cassettes, and DAT type tape if
you bring your DAT recorder to the studio for copying into our computer.
We can also accept data remotely via broadband over the Internet. We
have professional noise removal software if needed. We work carefully to
protect your original work which is returned to you intact.
The play order is set and required specifications are met,
called the "Red Book" standard. Sony CD Architect 5.2 with
Sony Sound Forge 8 is used. |
The final Master made is used by a Replication
House to prepare CD's in quantity. We can arrange for replication or
supply small quantities in-house; Here is an example of in-house
production with direct CD printing:

Mastering does not include the labels & artwork to
be printed on the CD or case liner after replication. We do provide a
detailed cue sheet with titles, times, and our notes for the replicator.
The client is always consulted on the effects to be achieved, so that
the music remains uniquely theirs.
